Among the contraindications - increased sensitivity to chlorpromazine and other components of the pharmaceutical product; liver and/or kidneys insufficiency; progressive systemic diseases of the brain and spinal cord (slow neuroinfections, for example, multiple sclerosis); gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer during exacerbation; myxedema; severe cardiovascular diseases (decompensated heart failure and heart defects, severe myocardial dystrophy, severe arterial hypotension, rheumatic carditis in advanced stages), thromboembolism; late stage of bronchiectasis; glaucoma; urinary retention due to prostatic hyperplasia, stroke, acute period of craniocerebral trauma; cholelithiasis and urolithiasis; acute infectious diseases; severe central nervous system depression, coma, brain trauma, concomitant use with barbiturates, alcohol, drugs.

Thorazine side effects

From the side of the vision: with prolonged use in high dosages, the deposition of chlorpromazine in the anterior structures of the eye (cornea and lens) is possible, which can accelerate the processes of normal lens aging.

From the side of the CNS: akathisia, blurred vision; rarely - dystonic extrapyramidal reactions, parkinsonian syndrome, tardive dyskinesia, thermoregulation disorders, ZNS; in rare cases, convulsions.

Among dermatological reactions: rarely skin pigmentation, photosensitization.
